Simple tooth replacement options
A missing tooth can make day-to-day life difficult. Simple things like speaking, eating, and smiling become harder than before. Depending on your unique situation, full or partial dentures might be good options for you to replace that missing tooth or teeth.
Dentures are synthetic replacements for natural teeth. Some dentures replace a few missing teeth, while others replace all teeth, gums, and surrounding tissue. At Pickens Family Dentistry, we offer modern denture treatments and will work with you to determine if full or partial dentures are a good option for your situation.

Benefits of full or partial dentures:
Dentures and Partials at Pickens Family Dentistry
Missing teeth are inconvenient and pose significant oral health concerns. When you have multiple missing teeth, dentures could be the most effective solution. Our dentists can help!
The fake teeth in dentures are usually made of plastic or porcelain, supported by a frame of “gums” made with acrylic resin. The different types of dentures include:
Complete Dentures: Also called full dentures, these are replacements for entire sets of teeth and are supported by the remaining hard and soft tissues in the patient’s mouth.
Fixed Partial Dentures: These implant-supported bridges, permanently glued or screwed into the mouth, replace missing teeth with two dental implants and a false tooth or teeth in between.
Removable Partial Dentures: These replace some missing teeth, come with a gum-colored base, and can be removed and replaced easily, at any time.
When you come to our office for a missing tooth exam, we’ll use our high-tech diagnostic tools to ensure complete accuracy in our diagnosis. Once we understand what you’re experiencing, we’ll lay out the status of your oral health, present our treatment options, and discuss recommendations, potentially including full or partial dentures. We’ll always answer your questions and fill you in on what you can expect.
Our Dentures and Partials Process
We’ll prepare the resin frame, match the tooth color of the dentures with your natural teeth, and make sure everything is ready.
Then, we’ll measure the missing tooth area to ensure a perfect and comfortable fit.
While your custom full or partial denture is being prepared, we’ll place a temporary denture.
Once your personalized denture is complete, we’ll bring you back to the clinic for your permanent restoration.
““This is the best dental office EVER. Honestly, I fly up from Southern California to get my teeth cleaned here and any other dental work done – I absolutely refuse to go anywhere else. Dr. Pickens and the staff are exceptional, and they’ll never, ever push work on you and will always make sure you’re comfortable and understand why any work needs to be done. HIGHLY recommended!””
Dental Bridges FAQs
Do partial dentures look natural?
Partial dentures do not look completely natural, unfortunately. The false tooth or teeth are attached to adjacent, natural teeth, without the natural appearance of the tooth emerging from your own gums. However, partial dentures tend to be an effective and less-expensive way to replace missing teeth. Regular maintenance of partial dentures also help to keep them looking and feeling their best.
Can I eat with partials?
Most dentures are strong enough to be chewed with, such as flexible partials and dental bridges. When you first get your new dentures, cut up food in small pieces and experiment with chewing with both sides of your mouth to get used to them. Sticky or harder foods can be more difficult to handle. Make sure to clean the dentures before bed every day!
How much do partial dentures cost?
The cost of partial dentures varies based on factors such as:
Materials used
Number of teeth replaced
Location in your mouth
Method of creating the dentures
