When your goal is to have better oral health, a lot depends on how you care for your body as a whole. You need to keep your mouth clean by brushing and flossing appropriately, plus going in to see your dentist every six months.

However, you also need to feed your mouth the right types of foods. You want foods that are going to help put nutrients right up against your teeth, plus work to keep your teeth clean just by eating them. Here are a few of the best foods to eat regularly to boost your oral health.

Foods That Should Be Eaten Almost Every Day

Celery is one of the best snacks one can eat. It helps to hydrate your body, which is always good. However, the little strings within the celery also act like a toothbrush when you chew it up. This means that while you are chewing, your teeth are getting a cleansing bath to help keep them healthier!

Leafy greens are also really good for you. On top of being packed with vitamins and nutrients, you also get the brushing effect when you eat them. Plus, since they are harder to chew, it causes your body to produce more saliva, which also helps to keep your teeth clean.

Hard, raw fruits should be added into the mix some of the time as well. Consider eating a raw pear or an apple with the skin on, as that does the same basic thing as leafy greens. The skin is full of fiber, which is great for you, plus it helps to brush your teeth and keep them healthy!

Whenever you get munchy, grab one of these items. The more of them you can fit into your daily diet, the healthier your mouth is going to be!
